Free website audit
Enter a page of your website and we'll run all seven of our checks on it: SEO, speed, mobile layout, accessibility, security, links and page errors (including forms), and server availability. You get one report with a score for each area, the evidence behind every finding and a short list of what to fix first.
What this tool checks
SEO
Title and description, headings, canonical URL and where it points, indexing rules, image descriptions, JSON-LD structured data (parse errors and missing key properties), social previews, and your robots.txt and sitemap.
Speed
A Google Lighthouse lab test of how quickly the page shows content and becomes usable, with each metric compared to its published threshold and the files behind every slow audit. If Lighthouse can't run, a clearly labelled quick check takes its place.
Mobile experience
The page opened at phone, tablet and desktop sizes: whether the viewport tag is present, uses width=device-width and allows zooming, and which elements stick out past the screen edge.
Accessibility
Automated WCAG rules from axe-core — missing labels, low contrast, images without text alternatives, ARIA mistakes and more — with the affected elements and the rules that need a person to review.
Website security
HTTPS and the http→https redirect, the TLS certificate, the values of your security headers (HSTS, CSP, framing and more), cookie flags, CORS, mixed content and security.txt. Passive and read-only.
Links, forms & page errors
Up to 12 links to your own pages and 5 to other sites, files that fail to load, JavaScript errors, and the markup of each form — which is never submitted.
Server & availability
Whether your homepage and common files such as robots.txt and sitemap.xml respond, whether any return server errors, and the average response time.
How the check works
We visit the page you enter the way a browser would and run seven independent checks on it. The mobile, accessibility and links checks use a real Chromium browser, speed uses Google Lighthouse, and the SEO, security and server checks make direct, read-only requests to your site. No form is ever submitted and no login is attempted.
Each area gets a score from 0 to 100. Most start at 100 and lose points for each problem found, and the report lists every deduction; speed uses Lighthouse's own score. The overall score is the average of the areas we could check — if an engine isn't available or a check fails on our side, that area is left out rather than counted as zero.
The audit covers one page. With a free account you can also scan several pages of your site in one go, which adds site-wide checks such as duplicate titles, canonical problems, sitemap errors and potential orphan pages.
Evidence you'll see
Each finding shows what we actually observed (a header value, a title, an element), what a passing result looks like, the URLs or elements affected, how confident the check is, and where the evidence came from — the HTTP response, the HTML, the rendered page, Lighthouse or axe-core. The report also lists the checks that passed, and marks anything that couldn't run as not tested.
What this audit does not check
Your other pages
Every check looks at the one address you enter. Duplicate titles, orphan pages and broken links elsewhere need a site scan.
Pages behind a login
We only see what loads publicly. Nothing is signed into, and no form is submitted.
Security testing beyond configuration
It isn't a penetration test: no exploitation, no vulnerability scanning of your software or its dependencies, no server-side code review.
Real-visitor speed
Speed is one lab run. Field data and Interaction to Next Paint (INP) come from real visitors, for example in Google Search Console.
Rankings and content quality
No keyword research, ranking or traffic data, backlinks, or judgement of whether your content is useful.
Common problems we find
Missing or badly sized page titles and descriptions
Titles that are empty, generic (“Home”) or longer than about 60 characters, and pages with no meta description, so search engines write their own snippet.
Large, slow-loading images
Photos far bigger than the space they're shown in are one of the most common reasons a page is slow to show its main content.
Missing or weak security headers
No HSTS or Content-Security-Policy header is very common, and so is a CSP that allows 'unsafe-inline' scripts or an HSTS max-age of only a few minutes.
Images and buttons without text
Images without alt text and icon-only buttons without a name leave screen reader users guessing.
Low colour contrast
Light grey text on white, or text over busy images, that many people find hard to read.
Broken links, failed files and JavaScript errors
Links to pages that were moved or deleted, scripts or images that return 404, and scripts that fail while the page loads.
How to fix them
Start with the “Fix first” list
The report puts the most serious problems that are quickest to fix at the top. Work through those before anything else.
Take the quick wins
Titles, descriptions, alt text and most security headers are small edits in your CMS or server settings, and they often lift a score noticeably.
Plan the bigger jobs
Speed and layout problems usually need changes to images, scripts or templates. Each issue in the report explains why it matters and what to change.
Check again after each change
Run the audit again once you've made a fix, to confirm it worked and nothing else broke.
Frequently asked questions
Is the website audit really free?
Yes. You can audit a page without an account. Free checks are limited to a few per hour and per day for each network so the service stays available for everyone; a free account raises that limit.
How long does an audit take?
Usually one to two minutes. Most of that time is the speed test and the browser-based checks, which load your page several times.
Does it check my whole website?
No, it checks the one page you enter. To scan several pages of a site together, create a free account and start a site scan from your dashboard.
Why is one of the areas missing from my report?
Some checks need a browser engine or Lighthouse running on our server. If one isn't available at that moment, we leave that area out and calculate the overall score from the areas we could check, instead of guessing.
Why does my score change when I run the audit again?
Speed in particular varies from one page load to the next, depending on network conditions, server load and third-party scripts. Other areas only change when the page itself changes.
What happens to the results?
Your report is available through its private link. Analyses, including screenshots, are deleted automatically after 24 hours. Reports show cookie names but never cookie values, and never the contents of your forms.
